Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated 1 September 2026
Overview
You can ask Collektivs to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains the three available paths and what happens after you submit a request.
There are five routes. Use the one that matches your situation.
Path 1 — Delete your entire Collektivs account (fastest, fully self-service)
This is the right option if you signed up for Collektivs and want all of your data — account, organizations you own, posts, connected social-media account tokens — removed.
- Sign in at https://collektivs.com.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Click Delete account.
- Confirm by typing your email address.
- Click Delete permanently.
What happens next:
- All OAuth tokens for connected social-media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others) are revoked and deleted within 24 hours.
- Your personal account data, posts, scheduled posts, and uploaded media are deleted within 30 days.
- Billing records are retained for the legally required period (10 years under French accounting law) — they cannot be deleted earlier, but they are stored separately and accessed only for tax and audit purposes.
You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
Path 2 — Disconnect a single social-media account (you keep your Collektivs account)
This is the right option if you want to remove a specific Facebook Page, Instagram account, or TikTok account from Collektivs but keep using the Service for your other accounts.
- Sign in at https://collektivs.com.
- In the left sidebar, find the social-media account you want to disconnect.
- Click the gear icon next to the account name → Disconnect.
- Confirm.
What happens next:
- We ask the platform to revoke the access and refresh tokens straight away, and delete our copy immediately. If the platform cannot be reached we still delete our copy, and you can remove the app yourself from the platform's own settings (see Path 5).
- Account-specific cached data (profile picture, links, location, website, and the engagement metrics and inbox conversations that came through the account) is deleted within 30 days.
- If the account was your own personal account, its display name is replaced with "Disconnected account" at the same time. An organization's own page or business account keeps its name, because the organization needs its record of what it published and where to stay readable.
- Posts published through Collektivs remain on the social platform itself — disconnecting from Collektivs does not delete posts you already published; you would need to delete those manually on the platform.
Path 3 — Stop one organization using your connected account
This is the right option if you connected a personal social-media account and allowed one or more organizations you belong to to publish with it, and you now want to withdraw that permission from one of them while keeping the account connected for yourself and for any others.
- Sign in at https://collektivs.com.
- Go to Settings → Connected accounts.
- Find the organization under the account you granted, and click Withdraw.
What happens next:
- That organization loses the ability to publish with the account immediately, along with every member permission that came from your grant.
- Within 7 days we delete what that organization derived from the account: the engagement metrics of posts published only through it, and the inbox conversations it received through it.
- Your account stays connected, and any other organization you granted keeps working.
- The record that you granted and then withdrew permission is kept, because we have to be able to show that we acted on your decision.
- Posts that organization already published stay on the social platform, and its record of having published them is kept as part of its own business records.
Path 4 — You don't have a Collektivs account but a Collektivs user gave us your data
If you believe an organization using Collektivs has stored personal data about you (for example, your contact details listed as a member of their workspace), you can ask us to delete it directly.
Send an email to privacy@collektivs.com with the following:
- Subject line:
Data deletion request - Your full name.
- Email addresses you believe are stored in Collektivs.
- A short description of how you think the data was collected (e.g. "I was added as a member of the [organization name] workspace").
- Any other identifiers that would help us find your data (e.g. the social-media handle of the workspace you suspect).
We will:
- Acknowledge your request within 5 working days.
- Verify your identity (we may ask for a government-issued ID or another reasonable verification step — required by GDPR Art. 12).
- Search our systems and delete the personal data we identify.
- Confirm completion in writing within 30 days of the original request (we may extend this by up to 60 days for complex requests, with notice).
If we cannot fulfil the request — for example because we have a legal obligation to retain certain records — we will explain why and tell you what data has been retained and on what basis.
Path 5 — Remove our access from your social platform
You can also revoke Collektivs's access from your social-media account's own privacy settings:
- Facebook: Settings → Apps and Websites → find Collektivs → Remove.
- Instagram: Apps and Websites → find Collektivs → Remove.
- TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security → Manage app permissions → find Collektivs → Disconnect.
Removing access this way stops us using the connection immediately, because the token stops working. Facebook and Instagram also tell us you did it, and we then disconnect everything your authorisation had connected and run the same cleanup as Path 2. TikTok does not notify us, so for TikTok use Path 2 as well if you want the cleanup to run.
What we cannot delete
A small amount of data must be retained even after a deletion request, for the periods listed below:
| Data | Why retained | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Billing and tax records | Required by French Code de commerce Art. L123-22 | 10 years |
| Server logs (anonymized after 30 days) | Security and abuse prevention | 12 months |
| Records of the deletion request itself | To prove we honored the request, in case of dispute | 5 years |
These records are stored separately from the active product, with restricted access.
